How do I read fare rules in Galileo (FN, FQN)?

From a fare display, FN*2 opens the rules menu of line 2 and FN*2/16 one paragraph. After a quote, FQN lists the fare components and FN1/ALL shows every rule of component 1. Read each component of a return.

When

Before the client pays, you need the fare's conditions: can the ticket be changed or refunded and for how much, how far ahead it must be bought, and how long the client must or may stay. Galileo calls these texts fare notes.

Check first

  • From a fare display: you know the line number of the fare.
  • From a booking: you have just priced it with FQ (or FQBB), so the components of that quote exist.

Check it worked

The menu gives numbered paragraph titles to choose from, and each paragraph you request comes back as text. After a quote, FQN gives one entry per fare component, so you can see how many rule sets apply.

Traps

  • A return can be two fares. If FQN shows two components, read both — each one has its own conditions.
  • Rules read from a fare display describe the fare in general. The rules that count for the booking are those of the quoted components (FQN then FN).
  • No summary answer? The short form exists only for some city pairs — read the full paragraphs instead.
  • If a change or refund amount in the text is unclear, ask the airline before you promise it.
