When
A client quotes an airline-website fare that Amadeus does not show, or a colleague mentions "NDC content".
What it is
NDC (New Distribution Capability) is the airlines' newer way of selling through agencies: richer fare bundles, ancillaries and offers sent in real time by the airline itself. In Selling Platform Connect:
- NDC is searched and booked only in the graphic All Fares tool;
- seats and services can be added at any stage, even after payment;
- payment and issue happen in the booking file (cash or card);
- cancellation is possible before issue; void and refund after; exchanges are supported;
- an NDC PNR can only be mixed with hotel, car and miscellaneous segments.
At your agency
Whether your Selling Platform Connect office has NDC is an office setting, and it takes two steps (Amadeus Slovenija, 2026-10-13):
- Amadeus switches NDC on for your office (Office ID) — ask your Amadeus account manager; there is no activation fee.
- Each airline then registers your Office ID for its NDC content. Your agency asks the airline's representative (its sales contact or NDC programme) — Amadeus cannot do this for you, it is a bilateral agreement between you and the airline.
Until both are done for an airline, its NDC fares do not show. Many offices have GDS content only: NDC and low-cost content are not enabled. An API office (the Office ID your agency's keys run under, for example in GateRoam) is a second office with the same two steps. Check with your senior agent or Amadeus administrator which airlines are active. The NDC cards are here for reference.
Why it matters
Fares only sold through NDC (or the airline's website) cannot be matched in the GDS, so a client may find a lower price online than the terminal shows.
