When

You need the fare and taxes as they were on an earlier day: to check what a ticket issued last month should have cost, to work out an exchange or a refund, or to answer an airline's question about an old price.

Check first

  • The booking file holds the itinerary to price (for a ticket already flown or changed, rebuild it if needed).
  • Know the dates: the original ticketing date, and the booking date if the fare depended on when it was booked.
  • History reaches back up to two years.

Traps

  • Not guaranteed. Historical quotes use the old NUC levels and IATA rates of exchange and are filed with code M; Travelport's fare guarantee does not cover them.
  • .T = old fare and old taxes; .H = old fare, today's taxes. For an exchange, .T goes with a change that keeps the routing and .H with a reroute (see Even exchange (reissue a ticket) — new flights, same fare and taxes).
  • The date modifiers (.T, .H, .B) cannot be used with best buy (FQBB).
  • The historical fare display answers only in a native terminal window, and its fare notes must be read with entries.
  • Used with a future date, .T checks whether advance purchase and ticketing conditions would still be met (see Advance purchase and stay dates — count days for a fare).
