When
The client cancels one flight or the whole trip, or an element (remark, SSR, phone) is no longer needed.
Check first
Are there tickets? Cancelling the flights does not void or refund a ticket. Decide first with Void, refund, revalidation or reissue — which one this case needs — void the same day, otherwise refund or keep the value.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | XE4 | Cancels element 4 (a segment is cancelled with the airline). | The standard cancel. |
| 2 | XE5,7-11 | Cancels several elements. | |
| 3 | XI | Cancels the whole itinerary. | The trip is off. |
| 4 | SX · SX/S3 | Cancels all seat requests · those of segment 3. | Seats only. |
| 5 | DL/2 | Removes segment 2 that carries a negative airline answer (UN, UC, NO). | Clean up refused segments. |
| 6 | DL4 | Deletes element 4 (e.g. an auxiliary segment). | Remove without cancelling anything with an airline. |
| 7 | RF + name, ER | Saves the cancellation. | Only now is it sent to the airline. |
Check it worked
RTA no longer shows the segment; RH shows it cancelled with your RF.
Traps
- Cancelling seats does not refund money. A ticketed booking needs a void or refund in addition (and your agency's own records updated).
- Cancel what you do not need before the flight: an unused seat left booked becomes a no-show, which can make the rest of the ticket unusable and cost fees.
XIon a PNR you only wanted to change is a common mistake —IRundoes it if you have not ended.
