When
Something should have printed and did not (an invoice, an itinerary, a document in a market that still prints), or your office administrator asks you to check a printer or the stock numbers registered for your office.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | TTQLIST | Printers linked to your terminal and office. | Which printer is yours. |
| 2 | PQD/A1 | Shows print queue A1: what is waiting to print. | Is the job stuck there? |
| 3 | PQO/A1 · PQC/A1 | Opens · closes print queue A1. | A closed queue holds every job. |
| 4 | PQR/A1/7/2 · PQN/A1/6 | Moves item 7 to position 2 · prints item 6 next. | Urgent job first. |
| 5 | PQT/A2/A1 · PQX/A1/2-4 | Moves everything from A2 to A1 · deletes items 2 to 4. | A printer is out of order. |
| 6 | TZD | Status of the ticket delivery to the printer. | Is delivery running? |
| 7 | TZSTOP · TZSTART | Stops · restarts the delivery. | Paper jam, new stock. |
| 8 | TSD · TSD/E1 | Document bank: the stock registered for your office · one stock reference. | Which numbers are next. |
Registering and changing stock numbers (TSM/E1/…, TSN, TSX) is the office administrator's job; a
host office adds /ST and the satellite office to the TZ entries.
Check it worked
PQD no longer lists the job, and TZD shows the delivery running.
Traps
- Deleting a print job (
PQX) or purging the delivery (TZPURGE) means it will not print — only when you know it printed already or is not needed. - Ask before you touch the document bank: wrong stock numbers reach the sales report.
