When
A booking is not yet ticketed and you must know by when — your agency's own reminder and the airline's deadline are different things.
The three deadlines
| Deadline | Where you see it | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Your TK TL | RTK (TKTL15SEP) | The PNR is put on your office's ticketing queue that day. Nothing is cancelled. |
| Airline ticketing deadline | airline SSR/OSI in the PNR (RTG), the fare rules, the last date to ticket in the TST (TQT) | The airline cancels the seats if not ticketed. |
| Fare validity | fare rules (FQN…*AP advance purchase) | The price may no longer apply after it. |
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | TQT | Last date to ticket of the stored fare. | The fare's deadline. |
| 2 | RTG | Airline messages with their deadline. | The airline's deadline. |
| 3 | TKTL14SEP | Your reminder before the earliest deadline. | Work it in time. |
| 4 | TL · TL/YY | Adds an Amadeus time limit before end of transaction (for one airline). | |
| 5 | LPO/Y(TL14SEP) | Lists your office's PNRs unticketed with time limit 14 Sep. | Daily check. |
| 6 | TTP/TL | Issues tickets from queue 8 with a category identifier. | Work the ticketing queue. |
Traps
- Missing the airline deadline cancels the seats — and re-booking may cost more.
- A TKTL date later than the airline's is useless; always the earlier of the two.
