When
Use this card when the airline itself made the booking (for example a group or a call-centre booking) and your agency must issue the tickets in Galileo.
Check first
- The airline must first give your office authority in its booking. Ask the airline to do this before you try; without it the claim does not work.
- The airline's record locator, or the flight, date, board point and a passenger name.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | C/JU*M4R8TZ | Shows airline JU's booking with locator M4R8TZ. | Look at it before taking it over. |
| 2 | C/JU*JU211/17NOVBEG-NOVAK | Finds it by flight, date, board point and name. | When you have no airline locator. |
| 3 | C/JU*3 · C/JU*L | Opens line 3 of the airline's name list · shows the list again. | Several bookings with that name. |
| 4 | C/JU/OK | Claims the booking. | It becomes a Galileo booking file owned by your office. |
| 5 | I | Ignores instead of claiming. | Wrong booking, or you only looked. |
Booking file lend is the other way an airline can let you ticket: *JU/*M4R8TZ shows a passive copy of airline JU's booking that you may only use for ticketing. The airline remains the owner. In Limited Access drop-through bookings this lend happens automatically.
Check it worked
After the claim, the booking file opens in your office with the passengers and flights of the airline booking; you can now price it and issue (Before you issue — the ticketing checklist).
Traps
- Claim is taking ownership; lend is not. After a lend you can issue tickets, but changes stay with the airline.
- Fill what your office needs before pricing — ticketing field, phone, received (What a booking file must contain).
- A claim also works for issuing tickets on a group booking file.
- The airline decides which way (claim or lend) it allows. If neither works, ask the airline which authority it has given.
