How do I encode and decode codes in Galileo?

.CE LJUBLJANA finds a city code and .CD TGD names one; .AE and .AD do the same for airlines (.AD*220 decodes a ticket prefix), .ED and .EE for aircraft, .LE and .LD for countries. C*MAP/SLOVENIA-BBBB lists towns with their nearest airports.

Traps

  • City code vs airport code. LON covers every London airport, LHR only Heathrow. Search the city when the client does not mind which airport.
  • Codes can differ by one letter — decode before you sell when in doubt.
  • The nearest-airport list may be incomplete and does not exist for every country.
