When
A name was typed wrong, a child's date of birth is missing, or an infant must be added to an existing booking.
Check first
- Is the ticket already issued? Before ticketing a correction is simple. After ticketing, the
airline's rules decide: a small spelling fix may be allowed, a different person never. Read the
airline's page (
GG AIR <code>) before changing an issued booking. - Is the change a correction of the same person, or a new person? A new person is a new booking.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | RT + locator, then RTN | Shows the names with their numbers. | You change a name by its number. |
| 2 | NU1/1SMITH/JOHN MR (or 1/1SMITH/JOHN MR) | Replaces surname and first name of passenger 1. | Correct a spelling. |
| 3 | 1/JAMES | Replaces the first name only. | |
| 4 | 3/(CHD/03JUL20) | Adds a passenger type and date of birth to passenger 3. | Needed to price a child. |
| 5 | 2/(ADT)(INFMILLER/TIM/21OCT24) | Adds an infant to passenger 2 after the e-ticket was issued. | The infant then needs its own infant ticket. |
| 6 | RF + name, ER | Saves. |
In the graphic booking file: Passenger and contact details → select the passenger → Modify; to add an infant: Modify → plus icon → Add infant.
Check it worked
RTN shows the corrected name; for an issued ticket, the name in TWD still shows the old one
until the ticket is reissued or corrected as the airline allows.
Traps
- Changing the name in the PNR does not change the ticket. If tickets are issued, follow the airline's rule — it may require a reissue or a new ticket (see Void, refund, revalidation or reissue — which one this case needs).
- Re-price after a type change (adult → child): the stored fare (TST) no longer matches.
