When
Before any EMD: the service itself must be booked in the PNR.
Which one
- SSR — the service belongs to a flight segment (seat, bag, sports equipment). Chargeable
SSRs show a
/in front of the element (/SSR RQST …). - SVC (manual auxiliary segment) — the service is not tied to a flight (change fee, deposit, residual value).
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | SR PDBG LH NN2/P1/S2 | Requests 2 prepaid bags for passenger 1 on segment 2. | Flight-related service. |
| 2 | IU BA HK1 PENF/P1 | Creates an SVC segment for a change fee. | Non-flight service. |
| 3 | FXK | Shows the airline's chargeable services catalogue. | Book from the catalogue instead. |
| 4 | FWK1 | Books and prices catalogue line 1 (SSR created, TSM stored). | Fastest for bags and seats. |
| 5 | RTG / RTA | Checks the SSR / SVC status. | Must be HK before pricing. |
Check it worked
The PNR shows the SSR (with /) or the SVC line, confirmed HK.
Traps
- Associate the SSR to the right passenger and segment — with several passengers it is mandatory.
- Some SSRs need the service code with RFIC/RFISC (
SR ASVC-C/0CZ/P1/S2).
