When
You finished a booking or a change (save it), or you only looked / made a mistake (throw it away).
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ER | Ends the transaction and redisplays the PNR. | Normal save — you see the result. |
| 2 | ET | Ends the transaction without redisplay. | Save and move on. |
| 3 | ERK / ETK | Ends, changes KK/KL segments to HK and moves NO/UN/UC segments to history. | Accept airline changes after a schedule change or a waitlist clearing. |
| 4 | EF | Files the new (associate) PNR after a split. | Part of Splitting passengers into a new PNR (SP). |
| 5 | IG | Ignores: discards everything since the last save; a new PNR disappears. | The safe exit when you only wanted to look. |
| 6 | IR | Ignores and redisplays the last saved version. | Undo your changes on an existing PNR, keep it open. |
Graphic: Save (ER); Ignore acts as IG on a new booking and IR on an existing one.
Check it worked
After ER the PNR is shown with its record locator; after IG the screen shows no PNR.
Traps
- Nothing is real until
ER/ET— and after it, everything is: seats are held, airlines are messaged. When you were only checking (for example trying entries you pasted), always finish withIG. - If
ERanswers with a warning (e.g. about the time limit or a duplicate segment), read it; a secondERusually confirms. Do not press it blindly. - Before
ERK, look at theUN/UCsegments: they will move to history — make sure the replacement flights are in the PNR.
