When
One passenger of a multi-passenger booking changes plans (other date, cancels) while the others keep theirs — you must separate that passenger first so the change affects only them.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | RT + locator, RTN | Opens the PNR and shows passenger numbers. | You split by name number. |
| 2 | SP 2 (or SP 2,4) | Moves passenger 2 (and 4) into a new "associate" PNR. | The passenger gets their own record, same flights and tickets. |
| 3 | RF + name | Received-from on the new PNR. | Required to file it. |
| 4 | EF | Files (saves) the associate PNR and returns to the original. | The new PNR now exists. |
| 5 | RF + name, ER | Saves the original PNR. | Both records must be saved. |
| 6 | RTAXR | Shows the linked PNRs (AXR). | Find the new locator. |
Graphic: Passenger and contact details → Split booking file → pick the passenger; the dialog shows both locators.
Check it worked
The original PNR no longer lists passenger 2; the new PNR does, with the same flights HK and the
same ticket numbers (RTTN).
Traps
- Forgetting the final
ERleaves the original PNR unsaved — the split is lost. - Split before you change or cancel anything; changing the whole PNR and then splitting changes everyone.
- A lap infant goes with its adult; you cannot split an infant alone.
