When
Every exchange (reissue) must tell the new ticket which old ticket it replaces: the FO element. ATC builds it; in manual exchanges you add it.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | TWD or TWD/L14 | Displays the old e-ticket first. | Without it the FO may get a wrong issue date. |
| 2 | FO* · FO*L14 · FO*L14/P1 | Creates the FO automatically from the only FA/FH · from line 14 · for passenger 1. | Easiest and safest. |
| 3 | FO125-2499001304E1LON12SEP25/91496715 | Manual FO: ticket, coupon, place and date of issue, IATA number. | When automatic is not possible. |
| 4 | FOINF125-… · FO PAX 125-…/P1 | For an infant · passenger-related. | |
| 5 | …/P1*I · *V | Involuntary · voluntary exchange indicator. |
A second exchange lists the original ticket first, then the latest.
Check it worked
RTF shows the FO line with the old number, date and place of issue.
Traps
- Pressing Enter twice may be needed for the automatic FO to appear.
- A wrong FO (wrong number or date) makes the exchange invalid for the airline.
