When
The client changes date, flight, class or routing on an issued ticket and the fare rules allow it, possibly with a fare difference ("additional collection") and a penalty. ATC calculates both.
Check first
TWD: coupons open.FQN…*VC/FQN…*PE: voluntary change conditions.- ATC is optional and market-specific;
FQNATC/CXRlists airlines using it. If refused, use the manual method (Manual exchange with an additional collection (re-pricing method)). - One passenger changing in a multi-passenger PNR? Split first (Splitting passengers into a new PNR (SP)).
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | SB… or XE + SS… | Puts the new flights in the PNR. | ATC prices what is booked. |
| 2 | FXF | Informative ATC pricing (no change). | See collection and penalty first. |
| 3 | FXQ | Confirmed ATC pricing: creates the reissue TST (and TSMs for penalty / residual if needed). | Stores the exchange. |
| 4 | TQR | ATC reissue panel. | Collection, penalty, residual. |
| 5 | FPO/…+/… (check FP) | Old and new form of payment for the collection. | Reissue needs both. |
| 6 | RF + name, TTP (TTP/TTM if TSMs) | Issues the new ticket (and EMDs). | The exchange itself. |
Options: FXQ/P1 passenger · FXQ/S1,3 segments · FXF/TKT057-…/P1 by ticket · FXE/FXO
best-pricer variants (may rebook class). Graphic: E-Ticket and EMD → ATC Reissue
→ new itinerary → Informative ATC → Confirm and create TST → FOP → Reissue.
Check it worked
A new FA line (new 13-digit number); TWD on the old ticket shows coupons E (exchanged).
Traps
- ATC does not apply to group booking files; several passengers must share the same itinerary.
- Every TSM ATC creates (penalty, residual) needs a form of payment and must be issued too.
