When
ATC is not available, no travel has started, and the new fare costs more: the client pays the difference (and any new taxes, and possibly the penalty).
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | check rules, change the itinerary | ||
| 2 | TTE | Deletes the old TST. | |
| 3 | FXB/K or FXP | Prices the new itinerary. | New fare; compute the difference and new taxes. |
| 4 | TTK/EXCH | Exchange mode. | |
| 5 | TTK/TEUR250 | Total additional collection. | What the client pays now. |
| 6 | TTK/X1-O132.00YQ/X3-O55.00GB | Marks taxes already paid on the old ticket as old (O). | Not collected twice. |
| 7 | TTK/X37.00YQ/X55.00GB | Adds the extra taxes to collect. | New amounts only. |
| 8 | 9/+/CASH/EUR250 (FP line 9 was changed to FPO) | Old + new form of payment with the collection amount. | Reissue payment. |
| 9 | TWD then FO*L14 | FO element. | Link old and new. |
| 10 | RF + name, TTP/RT | Issues. |
(NONREF is a UK form-of-payment code; use your agency's form of payment.)
Check it worked
The new ticket shows the collection as its amount and the FO; the old ticket's coupons are E.
Traps
- The penalty: the airline decides whether it is part of the collection or a separate EMD — check its policy (Airline change fee collected on an EMD).
- Getting old vs new taxes wrong double-charges the client or under-collects for the airline.
