When
The client connects between two flights and you want to be sure the connection is legal and realistic — especially when you build it yourself from two separate flights.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | DMFRA · DMFRA/15DEC | Minimum connecting times at Frankfurt (on a date). | The shortest legal transfer. |
| 2 | DMLON · DMLGW-LHR | Times for a multi-airport city · between two airports. | Changing airports takes longer. |
| 3 | DMCDG2A-2B | Between two terminals. | Terminal changes. |
| 4 | DMLH/FRA/LH · DMAF/CDG-ORY/LH | Online (same airline) · interline and inter-airport. | Exceptions per airline. |
| 5 | DM2/4 | MCT between PNR segments 2 and 4. | Recommended — checks the airline's exceptions. |
| 6 | DMI | Checks MCT and continuity for the whole PNR. | Before pricing and ticketing. |
| 7 | DRT19JULPARSFO | Neutral routes and connect points for a date. | Where connections are built. |
Why it matters
Amadeus builds connections in AN within the maximum elapsed flying time and with legal MCTs. When
you combine flights yourself, nothing stops a 30-minute connection across terminals — DM does.
Check it worked
DM2/4 shows the required minutes; your connection time must be equal or longer.
Traps
- MCTs are not guaranteed for passive, Direct Access or teletype segments.
- A legal MCT can still be risky (long walks, passport control, checked bags between separate tickets) — tell the client.
- Separate tickets have no protection if the first flight is late.
