When
Your agency pays with virtual cards created through Amadeus, or your office uses the method-of-payment (MEP)
element: a card you enter is kept as its own element and form-of-payment lines point to it. Both work only
where they are switched on for your office (HE VCN, HE MEP).
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | VCN/NEW/EUR250 | Creates a virtual card for 250 EUR. | One card for one payment. |
| 2 | VCN/NEW/EUR250/TRX1 · VCN/NEW/EUR250/RESID-ABC123 | Allows one transaction · links the card to booking ABC123. | Limit what the card can do. |
| 3 | VCN/LIST · VCN/GET/AMA-… | Lists your virtual cards · shows one by its Amadeus reference. | Find a card. |
| 4 | VCN/DEL/AMA-… | Deletes a virtual card. | Not needed any more. |
| 5 | FPVCN · FPVCN/P1 · FPVCN/EUR300 | Puts the virtual card in the PNR as form of payment · for passenger 1 · with another amount. | Pay with it. |
| 6 | FPMEP7 | Form of payment from the MEP element on line 7. | The card is entered once. |
| 7 | 8/NM-ANA NOVAK | Adds the cardholder's name to MEP element 8. | Complete the card data. |
| 8 | DE/PR/RL-ABC123 | Shows the payment record of a booking (where available). | What was paid, and how. |

RTF shows the FP line with the virtual card or the MEP reference.
Traps
- Delete the FP line before the MEP element it uses — then
XEthe MEP line. - Never copy a full card number into remarks, e-mails or chats.
