When
The class the client wants is full, and they accept waiting in case seats open up — usually while holding a confirmed alternative.
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | SS1D3/PE | Waitlists 1 seat in class D on line 3. | /PE asks for the waitlist. |
| 2 | SSAZ321D1FEBCPHEWRPE1 | The same in long sell. | |
| 3 | RTA | Status HL = waitlisted. | Not a seat. |
| 4 | later: queue message / RTA shows KL | The airline cleared the waitlist. | A seat is now offered. |
| 5 | ERK | Accepts: KL → HK; refused segments move to history. | Confirm the cleared seat. |
Check it worked
While waiting: HL. When cleared: KL, then HK after ERK.
Traps
- Never ticket a waitlisted segment. Price and ticket only confirmed
HKsegments. - Keep a confirmed alternative if the client must travel; cancel the one you do not use once the waitlist clears (or not).
- On Access Sell airlines "NOT AVAILABLE BUT WAITLIST OPEN" is the airline's own answer; adding
/PEto the sell is the fix. - Some airlines close waitlists for low classes —
