When
You already know the exact nonstop flight, class and date — for example from a flight search outside the terminal — and want to sell it without first displaying availability. A single flight only: a connection is sold from the availability of the whole direction, every flight in one entry (see Traps).
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | SSLH1455Y20OCTLJUFRA2 | Sells 2 seats: airline+flight, class, date, from, to, seats. | Exact flight in one line. |
| 2 | SSAF950A/M12DECCDGBRU3 | Flight number with a letter (950A): a / before the class. | Special flight numbers. |
| 3 | SSBA352C/LHRNCE1 | Departure today: no date. | Same-day sell. |
| 4 | SSAZ321D1FEBCPHEWRPE1 | Waitlist request (PE) in the long form. | Full class, on purpose. |
| 5 | RTA | Shows what was sold and its status. | If refused, the class is full or the flight changed. |
Check it worked
The segment shows in the PNR with class and seats; ER turns it into HK if the airline accepts.
Traps
- Never for a connection. Airlines give seats per whole trip: a connection sold one long sell at a time
is refused (
REQUEST REJECTED), or accepted on seats never meant for that trip and later fined (an ADM). Sell it from the AN list of the whole direction in one entry — Selling seats from an availability display (SS1Y1), Rebuilding a trip from a picture or an old booking — the whole trip, never flight by flight, Married segments — why you cannot change one leg alone. - Class must be available. A long sell into a closed class is refused (or waitlisted) — check
ANfirst when in doubt. - Sponsored airlines can only be sold with the long sell.
- Seats = adults + children (lap infants take no seat).
- When you only wanted to check, finish with
IG, neverER.
