How do I change a passenger name in Galileo?

List the names with *N, replace one with N.P2@ and the new name, for example N.P2@KOVAC/MARKO MR, then end with ER. After the first save the airline decides: expect NAME CHANGES NOT ALLOWED and ask it first.

When

A traveller's name is misspelt, an infant's data is wrong, or the client asks for another person on the seat. Use this card for the entries; the airline decides whether the change is allowed.

Check first

  • *N and note the passenger number of every name you will touch.
  • Has the booking file been saved (ended) before? Before the first save every name can be fixed freely; after it the airline's rules apply.
  • For a different person rather than a spelling fix, ask the airline first: that is a bigger change than a typo.

Steps

#EntryWhat it doesWhy
1*NLists the names with their numbers. The number goes into every change entry.
2N.P2@KOVAC/MARKO MRReplaces name 2.The usual spelling fix.
3N.P3-4@2HORVAT/LUKA MR/MAJA MRSReplaces names 3 and 4, who share a surname.One entry for a couple or a family.
4N.P5@I/NOVAK/EVA MISS*12MAR26Replaces infant 5, date of birth included. An infant keeps the I/ and the birth date.
5SI.P5/INFT@-P2Ties infant 5 to adult 2 instead.Works only after the file has been saved; up to two infants per entry.
6N.P1@*NEW TEXT · N.P1@*Changes · removes the remark on name 1.Name remarks follow the same pattern.
7N.P1@Deletes name 1.Only in a file that has never been saved, or for an infant without a seat.
8R.P + ERRecords who asked and saves.A change is not kept until you end the file.

Group bookings: N.G/@NEWNAME changes the group name and N.G/@ removes it, both only before the first save.

Check it worked

*N shows the new spelling under the same passenger number. *HN lists earlier names, so you can see what was changed and when.

Traps

  • The airline can refuse. Expect NAME CHANGES NOT ALLOWED. An airline may cancel the seats after a change it did not approve, so get its rule (and any fee) before you send it.
  • You cannot delete an adult or child from a saved file. Divide them into their own booking file and cancel that one (Divide a booking file (take travellers out)).
  • Check passport data (SSR DOCS) and other items tied to the name, and correct them to match the new spelling.
  • A ticket already issued carries the old name. Ask the airline how it wants a ticketed name handled before you change the booking file.
