When
Use this card when a flight in a Galileo booking file shows a two-letter code other than HK, or a queue brings a file back because the airline changed a status.
The codes you meet most
| Code | Meaning | What you do |
|---|---|---|
HK | confirmed | Normal. |
KK | confirmed by the airline (answer to a request) | Accept it with @ALL, it becomes HK. |
KL | confirmed from the waitlist | Accept with @ALL; tell the client. |
HL · LL | waitlisted · waitlist requested | Not a seat. See Waitlist a full flight and follow the airline's answer. |
HN · PN | requested · pending, no answer yet | Wait and check again. |
TK | times changed on a confirmed flight | Check connections, tell the client, accept (Work schedule changes from the queues (TK, HX, UN segments)). |
TL · TN | times changed on a waitlisted · requested flight | As above. |
UC | unable, waitlist closed | Not booked. Book something else. |
UN | unable, flight not operating | Not booked. Rebook. |
US · UU | unable to sell, flight waitlisted | Not confirmed; decide with the client. |
NO | no action taken | Not booked. |
HX | cancelled by the airline | Rebook, then remove it. |
AK · BK · YK | passive confirmed (booked outside Galileo) | Information only; BK still messages the airline, YK never does. |
ZK | passive API booking (direct payment carrier or NDC) | Managed through those channels (NDC in Travelport+ — what it is and how NDC bookings look). |
Steps
| # | Entry | What it does | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | *IA | Shows the air segments with their status. | Find every segment that is not HK. |
| 2 | fix the itinerary | Rebook alternatives for UC, UN, NO, HX. | The client must end up with confirmed flights. |
| 3 | @ALL | KK, KL, TK become HK; UU becomes HL; NO, UN, UC, HX are removed. | Clean the file. Removals go one per entry: repeat until there is nothing left to update. |
| 4 | @1HK · @1.3HK | Sets segment 1 (or 1 and 3) to HK by hand. | Only when the airline confirmed outside Galileo — rare. |
| 5 | @3XK | Removes segment 3 without any message. | Mainly for passive segments. |
| 6 | @1XK on an HX segment | Removes the airline-cancelled segment passively. | Does not work for EK. |
| 7 | LD/SC-HX/15NOV-D | Lists files with airline-cancelled flights on 15 November. | Find the ones nobody has handled (Lists of booking files (LD) and Preview Plus). |
Check it worked
*IA shows only HK (or the passive codes you expect) and the history has the old status (HS) and the change (SC).
Traps
- Never ticket a segment that is not
HK. A ticket for a seat that does not exist is worthless. @ALLalso updates SSR and seat statuses (except the infant SSR:SI.INFT@HK). Look at both before accepting.- Book the replacement before
@ALL, which removes the refused segments. - The ticketing field may be missing only when every air segment is
HX,UC,UN,NOorTK. - In lists, NDC bookings confirmed as
HKshow underZK, notHK. - If the file is already ticketed, check whether the ticket must follow the change (Void, refund, revalidation or exchange — which one this case needs).
